Science of the Comstock

https://www.tes.com/magazine/archive/science-comstock
The Comstock Lode was a large deposit of silver and gold in Nevada. Local teachers have used the interest that the area generates in order to develop some science projects. The one on siphons shows how much water had to be transported to the area. The site s imaginatively put together and shows science working in a context attractive to those students who find abstraction difficult. There is an imaginative use of animation to increase understanding.
