A European Space Education Resource Office for the UK has been created to coax more pupils into science, maths and engineering careers.

Esero-UK’s services include a website with news stories, listings of events and information about space-related careers and university courses; seven “space ambassadors” employed to help schools and colleges throughout the UK, including one for Scotland; and resources available through the eLibrary of the National STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) Centre.

This is the fifth office launched by the European Space Agency, following the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and Ireland.

Teachers can keep abreast of space education news and events by subscribing to a newsletter, and if they have any resources to share, Esero-UK would like to hear from them.
