The impact of bioscience on everyday life is the subject of a new campaign.

Bioscience for Life points to many challenges looming in the coming decades, including the production of safe and nutritious food, the protection of farms from exotic diseases, and efforts to keep the population healthy into old age.

The campaign, from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, currently consists of eight striking images, available on posters, postcards and online.

Chief executive Douglas Kell said: “Bioscience for Life demonstrates that bioscience does not always just produce one `killer’ application. Bioscience contributes to improving the quality of our lives in many ways - large, small, obvious and subtle.”
