Changes to the key stage 3 science curriculum run the risk of failure because they are being rushed, a partnership of leading learned societies warned yesterday.

The Science Community Partnership Supporting Education group said that teachers are being given insufficient guidance and time to implement the 2008 changes, under which the amount of detail in the curriculum is being cut drastically.

The issue was due to be debated in the House of Lords as The TES went to press.
