Finding the right path

Correcting pupils’ scientific misconceptions can be harder than quantum equations, but Britannica has launched Pathways: Science, an online interactive platform focusing on the 10 topics that pupils have historically found most confusing, including living things, light and sound, and the universe.

Why is it useful?

Topics follow the pattern of experiments, with an initial question, hypothesis, investigation and conclusion. “It is a most innovative effort to help teachers improve the general level of science education and training,” says Harry Kroto, a scientist and Nobel Prize winner.

What else?

For an injection of space-themed fun, try funforester’s space bingo. Watch pupils embark on a lively discussion about light with chris1962‘s origami quiz science task.
