Georgia Harris’ comprehensive guide and resource pack brings film-making into the science classroom by getting pupils to present their knowledge in documentary form.

What is it?

The project introduces the documentary genre, and asks pupils to analyse documentaries on science issues and decide how they will represent their chosen topic. It is a creative way to consolidate learning. Pupils can show what they have learned while developing communication skills by working in groups. It is particularly good at sparking scientific interest in pupils whose strengths lie elsewhere.
