Calling all young scientists and engineers!

Are your pupils working on a project they are particularly proud of? Would they relish the opportunity to show their work to some of the most influential people in science and engineering?

The Big Bang Fair takes place on 15-17 March 2012 and one of the most highly anticipated events is the finals of the National Science and Engineering Competition at the NEC in Birmingham. The competition is open to 11 to 18-year-olds from across the UK, who have completed a project in any field of science, technology, engineering or maths. Teams or individuals are welcome to enter and compete in one of three age categories for a number of amazing prizes including cash sums, trophies, medals and trips abroad.

As well as all that, entrants will also compete to become the UK’s Young Scientist or Young Engineer of the Year 2012.

For terms and conditions, details on previous winners and for some inspiring success stories to motivate your pupils, visit www.thebigbangfair.co.uknsec

What else?

For an inspiring science project for young pupils, look at a resource on space from LisaBodenham.

Or try a project from Alan_Monaghan on water and human conflict, which covers chemistry, physics and even geography.
