Science stifled

THE education market-place is stifling science, say the authors of Beyond 2000: Science Education for the Future. The report, funded by the Nuffield Foundation, calls for a more flexible curriculum and says teachers can't provide a general scientific education due to the demands of league tables, inspections and tests.
