* The Scottish Further Education Funding Council now has two vacancies at the top with the announcement that Professor John Sizer, its chief executive, who also heads the higher education funding council, ha decided not to renew his contract after nine years in the job. Bob Beattie, the chairman, has already retired through ill health. Esther Roberton, one of the vice-chairs, takes over meantime.
