Espresso Education is unveiling its new Scottish service at next week’s Learning Festival at the SECC in Glasgow. The website for primaries has been aligned to Curriculum for Excellence, with a new Scottish homepage and introduction to resources and news stories for Scotland. In a dedicated Scottish staffroom, teachers can find CfE resources including modules on Robert Burns and on Scottish Dancing.

The National Theatre of Scotland will launch an online toolkit on Wednesday for its award-winning Transform programme, described by one teacher as “Curriculum for Excellence in a box”. Over 20 Transform projects have been rolled out across Scotland. The toolkit is available on the Education Scotland website to enable schools to create their own Transform projects.

The Curriculum for Excellence Maths pupil books are designed to support all abilities at second, third and fourth levels. The publisher will give away 50 free copies on its stand on Wednesday at 4pm.

Groupcall will showcase the latest version of Emerge, its “intuitive” app for mobile access to MIS data. The app is enhanced with attendance, behaviour and achievement write-back for SIMS and CMIS. Incidents can be tracked with photographic and video evidence and sent back to the pupil’s profile. The parental contact system Messenger is now integrated with the app, so schools can take registration in the gym or on the field and communicate with parents while on school trips.

Perth and Kinross Council will exhibit its new skills framework, which provides practical support for staff delivering skills for learning, life and work as described in BtC4 and SQA Skills. The authority’s e-portfolio template and P7 and S3 profiles, based around the same skills, will also be demonstrated. Creating a Standard Together has been devised to inform understanding about learners’ skills in literacy, numeracy and personal skills and attributes.
