Book Inside You by Richard Walker. Dorling Kindersley pound;12.99.

A wonderful tour of how the body functions. The novel diagrams and text in the book work with the animations on the free disc to give a clear idea of what happens when the body reacts to a cut or bee sting.

CD-Rom KS3 Physics Overview on CD (Focus, Licences from pound;29.95 plus VAT www.focuseducational.com).

Excellent animations of physics principles, from movements in the solar system to electric motors. Great for whiteboards.

Website Astronomy for Kids: http:www.dustbunny.com. Great sky maps, and my 13-year-olds enjoyed using the planet data to make displays and PowerPoints. Links to other good resources.

Astronomy Picture of the Day http:antwrp.gsfc.nasa.govapodastropix.html. This brilliant collection of photos inspires pupils to ask “What’s that?” Great stimulus material for the whiteboard with information on pictures.

Seb Rogers is head of science at Cirencester Deer Park School, Gloucestershire, and recently judged the Royal Society Junior Science Book Prize Free classroom resources can be found at www.tes.co.ukscience3
