Secondary school closures are still on the cards in Powys after the council was forced to hold an extraordinary meeting last week. It was called after reorganisation plans were leaked, decided that the wide-ranging review of secondary education would be led by a new specialist board. Members, including councillors and officers, will be appointed on March 2. A number of options are being considered by the council, including the closure of up to seven secondaries, to be replaced by learning centres.
