Ahardiment has shared a Who Wants to be a Millionaire? PowerPoint template, complete with sound effects. Teachers can customise the questions and answers for any subject to make a revision game suitable for all ages.

For teachers of French, cthomas1983 has constructed an interactive game based on the TV programme Wipeout.

Pupils must identify the infinitive verbs on the grid and try to avoid finding a “wipeout”. The game would make a good lesson plenary.

One of the most popular resources in the English section is the Poetry Archive, compiled by TES Resources. The archive contains lesson plans and activity ideas for key stages 3 and 4, and A-level students.

Maths teachers wanting to make use of the interactive whiteboard will value Davem195‘s resource. It includes 50 interactive maths lessons that have been converted from the “standards unit box”.

DJ_Skoolio has supplied a lesson plan and PowerPoint presentation suitable for geography and design and technology lessons. The lesson looks at consumption choices and how they have an impacts on others.

Life during war

Lives at War is a new digital resource funded by the Digital Film Archive Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund. It uses archive World War 2 footage, 3D technology and a game using a fictitious Brighton street of the 1940s to explore the experiences of air-raid survivors.

Objects speak

The British Museum has funding from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation to support Talking Object projects at museums. The idea is to focus on one object in a museum and encourage young people to explore its meaning.

Gender agenda

One asks students to say how they would organise a fashion show, while another deals with organising a car show. And whether you like it or not, guess which one girls usually choose?

HELP IS AT HAND FOR TEACHING AQA PAPER

This collection has been compiled by TES English and has been designed to support the teaching of AQA GCSE English language. There is broad coverage of set and non-fiction texts, as well as language constructions, grammar and writing.

For Unit 1 - Understanding and Producing Non-Fiction Texts, a teaching resource pack of activities and worksheets to support the teaching and learning of this examination unit has been compiled.

Unit 2 in the AQA assessment examines pupils’ speaking and listening skills. A scheme of work includes relevant and up-to-date case studies.
