From tiny acorns, an entire playground could be grown thanks to a competition for primary schools run by the Royal Horticultural Society.

More than 2,200 schools received acorns in the post from the charity. It hopes that the opportunity to see seedlings growing will inspire creative work from pupils. The winning project will win pound;500 worth of landscape improvements for its school.
