The Government must lighten teachers’ rising paperwork burden.

AS THE level of bureaucracy teachers are expected to undertake steadily increases, many feel that their job is changing beyond recognition. The Government’s failure to fund education as it shouldis undermining their efforts further.

While there are justified criticisms of the results of contemporary teaching - the under-achievement of black children for one - there is no way the situation will improve if the current trends continue.
