How arrogant and self-righteous Mike Ion sounds in his letter (TES, March 17). This is often the tone of supporters of the comprehensive system. I am a teacher who supports selection by ability so long as there are enough funds and expertise to ensure a useful education for children of all abilities. Am I alone ?
