The Duncanrig and Ballerup secondary school buildings in East Kilbride, long cursed by anyone with half an eye to architecture, have become an unexpectedly big hit in at least one quarter.
Canadian academic Sylvia Grace Borda, who hails from the University of British Columbia, is going so far as to advocate that the buildings - and even the rest of East Kilbride New Town - should be put forward for Unesco world heritage status, as a superb example of the concrete and glass school of architecture.
Perhaps not in quite the same league as Edinburgh New Town.
