MIKE Cresswell, an expert in setting standards, has been appointed director general of Britain’s biggest exam board, the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance. Dr Cresswell, in charge of exams administration at AQA and a visiting professor at London University’s Institute of Education, succeeds Kathleen Tattersall, who retires on September 30.
