BORDESLEY Green girls’ school may have below-average GCSE results but a new performance measure suggests it is one of the best second-aries in England.

The Government’s controversial “value-added” scores look at pupil progress rather than raw results. Reading clubs helped the Birmingham school achieve much better GCSEs than expected from pupils’ test scores at 14.
