Shake a leg: the senior pupils of Tormead independent day school for girls in Guildford, Surrey, put on a dance display in 1950. The school became an educational trust in the same year and celebrated its centenary in 2005. It has just published its history, Girls in Blue, by Jean Bruton, the school’s former head of history and head of curriculum (James James pound;29.50).
