Innovative and creative approaches to teaching Shakespeare in secondary schools will be explored in “Shakespeare in the Contemporary Classroom”, a conference organised on January 17 by Globe Education and the London Institute of Education. Trainee and newly qualified teachers welcome.

It will be held at the Globe Education Centre and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Bear Gardens, London SE1, and costs Pounds 20, Pounds 15 students. Key speaker is Rex Gibson, editor of the Cambridge School Shakespeare series, and workshops include the possibilities and demands of working on the Globe stage, led by Lucy Bailey, who directed The Maid’s Tragedy.
