I am an American graduate student and youth theatre specialist. I am soliciting responses from British teachers who have staged scenes or skits from any of the Harry Potter books for a conference paper (and possible thesis research) entitled The Slytherin Strut: Staging Harry Potter in Classrooms, Camps, and Cabarets My interest is in the ways JK Rowling’s characters are being staged: from schoolyard games to theatre camps to classroom skits and adult cabaretmusical theatre.

I am exploring the stagings and how performances reflect the cultural contexts that produced them. In particular, I am examining British versus American stagings.

I am eager to hear first-hand accounts from teachers. Photographs would be immensely helpful as well. Please email me with your Harry Potter experiences. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me as well.
