Name: Allison Gale
Position: Headteacher, Brambles nursery school, an early excellence centre in Portsmouth, Hampshire
Q If you had David Blunkett’s budget what would your priority be?
A To make sure that all early years settings had enough funding to ensure that each pre-school child had equal access to the best opportunities.
Q If you had a blank cheque for your own school what would you buy?
A Since our nursery school was designated an early excellence centre by the Government there has beenmassive building work to enable us to provide community services. However, we still need money to extend the core school so that we can offer a place to every child on the (very long) waiting list.
Q What treat would you buy yourself?
A To sit with my husband in the market square in Bruges on a warm summer evening with a cold white beer watching the world go by.
