Name: Terry Creissen

Position: Principal, Colne community school, Brightlingsea, Essex

Q If you had David Blunkett’s budget what would your priority be?

A I would reduce class sizes (24 is a good number) so that pupils would get the attention they deserve. This way, average children would get noticed and supported.

Q If you had a blank cheque for your own school what would you buy?

A Some new computers would be nice but I’d really like a new sixth-form block, replacing our huts so that nobody would be taught, or have to teah, in a shed. I’d also like an ecology field study centre, an olympic size swimming pool and a theatre so that the school could be used by everyone in the community.

Q What treat would you buy yourself?

A I’d like to have a year off and go on a world tour in a Winnebago motorhome with my family. I’d also like golf lessons and a darkroom so that I can get back into black and white photography.
