Shortages hit youth groups

STAFF shortages are hampering the good work voluntary youth organisations are doing with teenagers. The Office for Standards in Education reported that young people’s achievements were satisfactory or better in 90 per cent of the groups’ sessions. However, it warned of a growing shortage of full-time youth workers, and said the quality of the organisations’ work with schools was variable.
