FILM EDUCATION. www.filmeducation.org
If freshness and topicality are your criteria for judging a Web site, this latest effort from Film Education should score well.
The site is divided into primary and secondary areas, each with news, resources, projects and competitions, all updated weekly or monthly.
Film Education is well known for its free-to-schools study guides, CD-Roms, and other teaching resources, most linked to current film releases. The site complements these with a well-stocked cupboard of exclusive online resources.
This month, secondary pupils are invited to compare chunks of screenplay from the current Hollywood adaptation of Great Expectations with corresponding extracts from the novel. In June, the focus will shift to football with a series of activities under the banner, The World Cup vs Cinema.
Everything can be downloaded and printed. Oh, and the “Breaktime” movie trivia quiz section is fun, as well.
