Agnes MacKenzie, head of pupil support at Trinity Academy in Edinburgh, in her base at the school, where HMIE launched its discipline report this week. The inspectorate saw it as one example of best practice where there were “clear procedures for monitoring the re-integration of pupils into mainstream”.
The support base can handle eight pupils at any one time. Such a facility can make a difference, inspectors say, but it is not appropriate in all cases.
