One mother reports a less than successful first week at school for her son.

“What did you do?” she asked. “I just sat and sat and sat,” he complained.

Four weeks later it wasn’t any better and, grammatically, far worse. “I just sitted and sitted and sitted,” he moaned.

This was as nothing compared to the moaning of his mother.
