Sixth year slot

I have been teaching for five years, but for the past two years have been working abroad. I am coming back to teach in the UK this September, so will be in my sixth year. What pay point will I be on?

Assuming you left during a summer, you should have an increment to come.

Your overseas service does not automatically count towards progress up the main scale, and any extra points are discretionary, and do not normally cover teaching jobs. You might look for posts with some responsibilities attached which will boost your salary.
