The First Minister will honour Scotland’s best budding business brains next Tuesday when he presents the annual Skene Young Entrepreneurs Awards and pound;1,000 to the winners.

This year’s primary winner is Portree Primary, which created a CD-Rom and book about wartime experiences of the people of Skye. Seoid (Gaelic for hero) has attracted orders from schools all over Scotland, producing more than pound;4,600 profit.

The secondary winner is Lenzie Academy. Its business sold hand-painted shot glasses, hand-crafted cards and jewellery and ran a Christmas dance photography service.
