Teenagers have always liked talking to each other about sex, and now they will be delighted to hear that their knowledge could help them to win up to pound;1,000.

Young people in England aged 13 to 19 will be offered grants from the Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), the HIV and sexual health charity, for the most innovative ways of teaching their peers about sex and relationships. The grants are to help the winners deliver their projects locally.

They will discuss pregnancy, safe sex, relationships and sexually transmitted infections and how to pass on information. If they can stop giggling.

This follows the success of the Young Leaders funded Safer Sex Awareness Hour; a radio show broadcasted in London.

“The opportunity I was given has helped my close friends and other young people learn about sexual health,” said Ashley Mackenzie, 19, who joined the radio show. Go to: www.tht.org.ukyouknowyou for more details.
