Great play at the Sportscotland annual report launch of the contribution of Scots to the British Winter Olympic team at Salt Lake City.

Plenty mention of Team Martin’s curling gold but strangely none of Alain Baxter, Aviemore’s slalom champ, whose bronze medal was subsequently withdrawn. Then again perhaps there was.

In his foreword, chairman Alastair Dempster, writes: “The year ended on a high.” Only joking Alain. You deserve your medal and a mention in the report.
