THE two authorities whose quality assurance systems have come under HMI scrutiny, East Renfrewshire and West Lothian, say their experience was beneficial.
Kate Reid, assistant director of education in West Lothian, told the seminar:
“We are now more conscious of the importance of having the evidence to show that what we say happens
is happening.”
Shelagh Rae, director in East Renfrewshire and last year’s ADES president, agreed with the need for accountability but said it was not yet clear what was the best way of ensuring it.
