Schools do not feel that a government programme to integrate social, emotional and behavioural skills into their day-to-day work has had much impact. The social, emotional and behavioural pilot, which aimed to introduce emotional skills into the curriculum, took place in six local authorities. But a report from the National Foundation for Educational Research found that many schools were unable to attribute any outcomes directly to the pilot itself. Many schools still hoped the project would lead to improved attendance and pupil staff relationships.
