Meet an entire musical family on the Q and D stand. Mini Musical Monsters (short-listed at the BETT 2006 awards), Musical Monsters and More Musical Monsters cater for pupils from early years up to key stage 2. The various activities include rhythm and melody creation and 30 sample tunes to illustrate a range of musical concepts. The software is suitable for whiteboard use and can be configured to pupils’ varying abilities.
Riff, also on the stand, is a composing and sequencing tool suitable for use at KS2-4. Features include an editing grid, support for traditional music notation, time, tempo and key signature input and score printing.

First steps in publishing
In addition to their acclaimed RadioWaves project, Synergy TV will be demonstrating dbass.org, a network of online music labels providing a safe environment for educational establishments to deliver a range of musical activities. An ideal tool for music services, inclusion projects and extended school activities, dbass is fun, topical, creative and hugely stimulating.
Each student has their own safe, advert-free web page to promote their music, and contact and collaborate with other members. They can easily publish music, pictures and messages, allowing them to manage and market their project and maintain an assessable portfolio of work.

Songs of bugs and spices
Get them singing! Out of the Ark Music specialise in songbooks and CDs for use from early years through to KS2. All their songs can be used “In assemblies, alongside topics for the national curriculum, end of term concerts and Christmas celebrations.” Out of the Ark will premiere two new products at the show.
Minibeasts is a book and CD set that includes 12 songs about, well, minibeasts such as bugs, spiders, snails and bees. Pictures, Poetry and Percussion by Ann Bryant is a set of 12 poems written and selected to encourage teachers and children to create percussive music. Each poem is illustrated to add extra visual inspiration.

Sound creation online
Sound Junction is a free online resource developed by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and commissioned by Culture Online (Department for Culture, Media and Sport). Primarily intended to support music at KS3, GCSE and A-level, the Sound Junction website has excellent materials for students of all ages. More than 100 musicians, teachers, students and music professionals collaborated on the project.
Visitors to the site can make or remix their own music with the online composer module, watch video clips of instruments being played or use a selection of interactive tools to explore sound creation. They can also post their own compositions online at the Composer Forum.
