Sort unfair GCSE grades now

I read with interest the article raising concern over the disparity in the grading of modern languages GCSE papers (“Boards in GCSE probe”, TES, August 19).

I contacted the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority with similar comments about the difficulty of the AQA Spanish foundation paper. I am frustrated that the QCA says it will not comment until completion of investigations in 2006 - too late for students who had an unfair deal.

Do we have any other means of achieving fair play for our students, some of whom will lose college places if they do not gain five good GCSEs (language being the one they fail)? Does anyone else feel the same?
