During a history lesson looking at the Black Country, Year 4 children asked about what people ate, so I used a personal example. I told them that when I was a child, we had sheeps’ brains on toast with egg, and salt and pepper mixed in. The class started to groan with nausea, but one lad wouldn’t stop. He turned to me with a green tinge to his face and said: “Ugh! I hate pepper.”
