A headteacher colleague has just had an inspection form the Office for Standards in Education. The inspector went into a Year 2 class to observe, and sat down with a group of six-year-olds.

As he began to write, one little girl asked him what he was writing.

“I’m writing down everything that happens,” came the reply.

Pause. “Are you using capital letters and full stops?” “Yes I am.”

“Then you’re in the wrong place,” said the six-year-old, “you should be in blue group.”
