After a successful curriculum day at Greenwich, south London, we decided to take our Year 1 to visit the museums there. In the morning we planned to go to The Queen’s House, built by Inigo Jones for Henrietta Maria, wife of Charles I. We wanted the children to look at the costumes and study some history.
We wrote to parents and enclosed a form for them to sign, agreeing to the trip. Nearly all the children returned the forms without question, except for one. Aysha handed her teacher a note from her mother. “Aysha can see the Queen’s House, but as she gets easily upset, she isn’t allowed to visit the green witch.”
