In a recent Sunday paper magazine, a woman was interviewed about her beautiful ‘casa’ in Sicily. She had been in danger of losing her home until she thought of a way to earn enough to maintain it. “I saw a chance - taking my friends and their friends as paying guests. I never took total unknowns; I couldn’t risk it. It began with me taking in creative people, but then I decided I must have some ballast - teachers or academics - otherwise it was just too fiery.”
