The head assembles the whole school in the hall to warn them that she will not tolerate the formation of gangs in the playground. At the end of the next play period, an angry teacher brings a bunch of children who he’s seen going around in a gang to the head.

When asked to explain their behaviour, one boy pipes up: “But Miss, we weren’t in a gang, we were in a group.”
