Our Year 3 teacher recently took her class for a walk. On their return, the children were asked to draw something beautiful they had seen. Ryan was struggling and finally turned to his teacher for help. “How do I draw a virgin?” he asked.

The teacher, taken aback, dismissed as inapproriate the fleeting images of white garments and halos and stood considering her dilemma. Ryan, in the meantime, was becoming impatient. “Never mind,” he said, “I remember now. It wasn’t a virgin, it was an Intercity.”
