During our key stage 2 maths test, one mathematically challenged lad was faced with the question: “A postman empties the postbox at the following times: Monday to Friday at 8am, 5pm and 6.30pm; Saturday at 4pm; Sunday, no collection. What’s the latest collection time on Tuesday?” His optimistic answer, born out of weary hope, was: “At 4pm, if you’re lucky.”
