Some years ago, finishing off an RE lesson with eight-year-olds on the Easter story, I was surprised to see one boy’s detailed picture of a man in a rowing boat leaving an island of gravestones. I was somewhat perplexed as to which element of the story he was illustrating.
The boy replied, quite nonchalantly, that Jesus “rows from the dead”.
