Student unions have called a strike for November 16 over demands that the Government increases aid to the Third World to 0.7 per cent of gross national product.

The Government spends 0.35 per cent of GNP and says it cannot afford more. Secondary school students are also expected to join the action. Two students have begun a hunger strike.“When I think of the 80,000 children who die daily worldwide, it takes my hunger away,” said one of the hunger strikers, Juan Luis Herrero.
