Speak up or face a long walk home

I WOULD like to offer advice to those who, like myself, are seeking jobs.

On February 14, I had an interview at a school in Macclesfield and received a rejection letter the next morning. However, it took the school another three weeks and a prompting letter to remit travel expenses.

On February 19, I had an interview at a five-star hotel in London, where the principal and headteacher were staying, for a job in Cairo and have still not received reimbursement of expenses, despite two emails.

The moral is: when dealing with independent schools get your expenses paid in cash before you leave the interview.
