Specialist schools lead with A-levels

Pupils attending specialist language and maths colleges are more likely to study the subjects in the sixth form, analysis by The Good Schools Guide shows. More than 12 per cent of pupils at language colleges sat a language A-level last year, compared to only 6.8 per cent in the state sector overall. And some 22 per cent of youngsters at maths colleges took A-levels in the subject, compared to 15 per cent in all state schools.
