West Lothian, Midlothian and the Borders are all hosting free classes for future football referees (aged 16 and over) in January and February. West Lothian’s 10-week course at Deans Community High, in Livingston, started last week. Midlothian’s 10-week course at Beeslack High, in Penicuik, will start on January 29, and Borders’ six-week course in Galashiels will start on February 25. Meanwhile, top German volleyball coach Alex Liebetseder will conduct a clinic for aspiring coaches, at Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh, on February 11, with the emphasis on the key skills of developing coaches and developing performance in junior players (pound;45 with lunch).
