Alex Burrows, Year 5 teacher at Malcolm Primary, Bromley This trip was an end-of-unit treat for the group. They have been studying myths and legends as part of key stage 2 literacy and have got a great deal more out of the show as a result. It was obvious they were also reminded of work they had done lower down in the school. Because there was so much they recognised, it helped keep them absorbed, as well as the fact that the exhibits were well targeted and hands-on. When we returned to school the children worked on individual illustrated books about the exhibition and the quality and detail of their responses was significant. As for me - the dragon was inspirational and I think we will try to build our own monsters with moving tongues as a result. The exhibition would also be great for KS1 pupils - especially the shadow puppet exhibit which is an ideal means of getting children inventing stories.
