Strathclyde University’s education faculty yesterday (Thursday) launched “a groundbreaking classroom support pack” aimed at helping primary teachers to recognise early indicators of dyslexia, which affects around 4 per cent of Scottish children.
The pack, which will be sent to every primary in Scotland, flags up the early signs that children are at risk. It points out that dyslexia does not just affect reading but also sense of direction, ability to organise thoughts and ideas, sequencing skills and memory.
